BOM-1 (Input or Correction of Bill of Material)

(Upper Level ID) Input the inventory item #. If the item exists in the system and you don't know the number, input ?? for the search methods, or use one of the search commands (?l x, ?lx or ?Dx). If the item does not exist, input an item number. The system will ask if you wish to input a new item. Input Y (Yes) to go to INV-1 (inventory input screen). Input inventory information, and input /F to file. Press Escape ([) to go back to BOM-1.
2. (Description) The description will be displayed for the item # you input in field 1.
3. (Stop Flag (Y/N)) This field is used with the Point of Sales Processor. If Y (Yes) is input, the point-of-sate processor is instructed to consider the item # input in field 1 as a raw material (lower level item), and the system will relieve the inventory at that point. If N (No) is input, the system will consider the item as a finished good only.
4. (Line Number) This field selects- the line item set. The arrow (-->) next to the line number indicates your line position. If you want to go to a particular line, you must be in this line # field. Input the line # and the arrow will move to that line.
5. (Component ID) Input the inventory # (Raw Material or Work in Process), which makes up the formula or recipe of the item input in field 1 (upper level ID). To search for the item, input ?? for search methods, or use one of the search commands (?I x, ?lx, or ?Dx). If the item does not exist, input the item # and the system will ask if you wish to input a new item. Input Y (Yes) to go to INV-1 (inventory input screen). Input inventory information, input /F to file. Press Escape ([) to go back to BOM-1.
6. (Description) The description will be displayed for the item # you input in field 5.
7. (Unit of Measure) The unit of measure will be displayed for the item # you input in field 5.

(Quantity) Input the quantity needed to assemble the upper level item input in field 1. The quantity should be based on the unit of measure displayed in field 7. The system allows four decimal places, i.e., 1.0055.

9. (Reference Designator) This field is for additional information concerning a component ID (field 5). You could input a brief description of where or how this component is used in the upper level item (field 1).
